Polymeric and Inorganic Coagulants

Amber

AQUA+TECH’s coagulant line includes aqueous solutions of polyamines and polyDADMACs, inorganics based on aluminum and iron, as well as blends.  All are supplied either in IBCs, drums or flexi-bags, which fill FCLs.

Polyamines are available as transparent, amber-colored, liquids at 50% active material. They have a density of 1.14-1.18 kg/L and have a pH of 5-6 when diluted in deionized water. They can be applied as coagulants in filtration and FABS, as well as in sedimentation.  They are also used in decoloration in sugar clarification as well as for cotton dye solutions. They also have roles in de-emulsification and in latex coagulation. In paper making they are parts of sticky control, retention and wet-end charge modification. Amber 2001, 2002 and 2006 are Kosher certified as food additive.

Amber 2001 HMW (3000-8000 mPa s)

Amber 2001 (2000-4000 mPa s)

Amber 2002 (400-800 mPa s)

Amber 2006 (150-400 mPas)

PolyDADMACs in the 2-4000 mPas range with 40% active material. Grades of pDADMAC at 20%, 30% as well as in solid form (Amber 2012) are also produced as our powders. PolyDADMACs can be applied in coagulation, filtration and sedimentation. They work well in turbidity reduction and on color removal for polyester dyes, often in combination with alum.  They are part of dual retention systems in paper making as well as sizing agents. Some of the pDADMAC grades are NSF approved for potable water. The density is 1.06-1.14 kg/L and the pH is 5-6.5 when diluted in deionized water. The main component of the range are the 2008 HMW and 2009 series. New additions to the family include the 2012 series of granular pDADMAC, with high solubility.

Amber 2002c is a customized blend of the most appropriate organic and aluminum coagulants. They are ideal for application in decantation as they can be tuned specifically to the sludge and hydrodynamic conditions of the plant.

Amber 3000 is a family of coagulants based on wood. These products are under development and will be produced in the Southern Hemisphere.

Amber 4001 is a sizing agent for textile yarns and fibers with excellent cohesion and efficiency on all types of dry looms. This product is suitable for use on single end or slasher sizing machines and presents no blocking tendency.

Amber RF is a blend of inorganic and polymeric coagulants very well suited for settling in decanters.

Amber YE is a family of polyaluminum chloride and aluminum chlorohydrate solutions with varying degrees of basicity (from 50 to 80%).

AQUA+TECH also produces a range of intermediate grades with customized specifications in terms of viscosity and solids levels. For the most appropriate coagulant please contact our support team.
